7 DAY DIVING ISLAND HOPPING TOUR

Day 1: San Cristobal

Welcome to the Galapagos Islands! Upon arrival you will be picked up from San Cristobal airport and you will be transferred to your hotel. San Cristobal is known for its many sea lions; they are literally lying around everywhere! In the afternoon you have free time to discover the island. You could visit the Interpretation Center, where you will learn about the formation and colonization of the islands. Afterwards you can walk the trail to the Frigate bird hill, which is a viewpoint from which you have a beautiful view over the island. This small hike ends at Punta Carola beach from where you return to your hotel. In the afternoon you need to visit the dive center to try your equipment for the next day. Day 2: Diving Day Tour to Kicker Rock

Today you will go diving at Kicker Rock. This site is the best spot in San Cristobal for spotting marine turtles, eagle rays, Galapagos sharks, and if lucky, hammerhead sharks. Kicker Rock is sheer-walled tuff cone that has been eroded in half and is home to a large colony of sea birds, such as boobies and frigate birds. The whole area and especially the west face of the rock, is exposed to moderate currents. The water at the bottom is cool and clear, and among the boulders you can expect to see a variety of wrasses, starfish, surgeonfish, and angelfish. Sightings of large rays and marine turtles are common as well. But the highlight is diving with Galapagos sharks, white tip reef sharks and hammerhead sharks! Overnight at Casa Playa Mann or similar.

Day 3: San Cristobal - Santa Cruz

In the morning you will take a public speedboat to Santa Cruz Island at 7 AM. The boat ride will take about 2 hours and can be bumpy, depending on the weather and time of the year. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel and then it is time to watch the famous Galapagos land tortoises in their natural environment and learn how the private ranches protect these special animals and their habitat. You can hear their sounds while they are eating the leaves of the trees. Tortoises of all different ages and sizes are gathering here. The well-known lava tunnels are another amazing experience! Formed by the lava floods of the volcanoes they range from the highlands down to the sea level. The track is collapsed on several spots. Nevertheless a part of the tunnel is intact and gives the observer an impression of their formation. Lastly a visit to Los Gemelos, the twin craters that are actually sink holes surrounded by Scalesia forest. Vermillion flycatchers are often seen here and sometimes you can also see the short eared owl. In the afternoon you have free time to visit the Charles Darwin Research Center to learn more about the endangered species and their conservation. You will also see the late Lonesome George, the last known individual of the Pinta Island tortoise, a symbol for conservation efforts worldwide. Afterwards visit to the dive center to try your equipment for the next day. Overnight at Hotel Galapagos Suites or similar.

Day 4: Diving Day Tour

Today you will do a diving day tour to a diving spot near Santa Cruz. That will be either to Gordon Rocks, Bartolomé, Cousins Rock, Guy Fawkes, Plazas, North Seymour, Floreana, Daphne or Mosquera. The destination will depend on availability at time of booking, day of the week, and the program of the National Park as the National Park gives daily itineraries. Overnight at Hotel Galapagos Suites or similar.

Day 5: Diving Day Tour

After breakfast you will do diving day tour to a diving spot near Santa Cruz, to another spot than the day before of course (Gordon Rocks, Bartolomé, Cousins Rock, Guy Fawkes, Plazas, North Seymour, Floreana, Daphne or Mosquera). Overnight at Hotel Galapagos Suites or similar.

Day 6: Diving Day Tour

After breakfast you will do diving day tour to a diving spot near Santa Cruz (Gordon Rocks, Bartolomé, Cousins Rock, Guy Fawkes, Plazas, North Seymour, Floreana, Daphne or Mosquera). Overnight at Hotel Galapagos Suites or similar.

Day 7: Baltra airport

Free time until pick up from your hotel for your transfer to Baltra airport. You can go to the fish market of Puerto Ayora, where you can see how pelicans and sea lions try to get some fish! A driver will pick you up to take you to the airport. You will be accompanied until check-in at the airport.
